This blog is a product of my imagination and life — whatever that comes to mean as time goes on. As a beginning musician and painter, I will from time to time share the struggles I am having with these two passions and hopefully there will be successes to report as well. I am an animal lover and share my life with my spouse and “the boys,” my two beagles. You’ll see them often here too. I spend my work a day life in the thankless public sector and my education in public administration serves me well in my profession, hopefully what I do makes a difference in the lives of others. I love traveling and seeing new places, people and things; someday I hope to spend more time traveling to see the mundane and exciting places this world has to offer. When I remember to pull out my camera, I like to take photos of the places and things in my life — it is possible that of all my hobbies, I actually may have a smidgen of talent at this, I’m sure you will be the judge of this. Natural beauty is a continuing passion and cause for me, I hope there will always be beautiful places and hidden gems in the world for us to find. One of my favorite places to go to get away and to bring friends is a small town in Idaho, where I maintain a cabin getaway and many of the photos that appear on this blog will have been taken there.
Many of us go about our days silently watching what happens around us, but rarely venturing into the public arena to “have our say” on the world around us. Whether it is fear of being “out of step” or “odd” in our opinions or a desire for privacy, there comes a time when the need to speak freely becomes an expression of our existence and our place in time. Engaging in conversations with others having differing opinions is important to understanding, so in my blogs from time to time, I’ll begin a conversation with you. It is my hope that each of us will gain insight into other perspectives as we converse.
I also want to use my blog to explore my own thoughts by putting them into words. Whether you call it spiritual, philosophical or just living a meaningful life, these are expressions of who I am and who I want to be. I will be curious to see if any of those blogs strike a cord with you. We shall see.
Lastly, I am looking for an outlet for whimsy. I value the child in me and wish to give voice to the wonder and unbridled passions of childhood. Along with this I will explore my hobbies and passions in life and in general the things and people who make me excited to get out of bed every day. I hope you will enjoy this blog; feel free to comment on my postings and let’s start communicating.
